Wheels that are not balanced or are out of balance generally produce a vibration that is uncomfortable to drive in and results in premature wearing of suspension and steering components, rotating parts and tyres.

Keeping your wheel balance in check not only extends the life of your tyres and suspension it also makes the driving experience a lot more comfortable and easy.

The first sign that your wheels may be out of balance is when your steering wheel starts to wobble above a certain speed. A driver may not always sense an imbalance at the steering wheel. It could be present but dampened by the vehicle weight. This is why balancing is equally important for both front and rear wheels.

When new tyres are fitted at our depot, the wheels are balanced using our state of the art 'Corghi Blue Light' Computerised Wheel balancing machines. The wheel balancer itself finds static or dynamic imbalances in your wheels. The machine is spun just like your tyres would spin along on the road to reveal any heavy spots. It then calculates exactly how much and where the weights should be placed to neutralize and cancel out the imbalance.
