Ladies Night

Everything you need to know.

The Ladies Night started in 2017 when Barry Douglas, our Business Development Manager, observed a recurring issue when staff were dealing with customers. A customer would often come to the counter, confused and uncertain about the technical jargon being used to explain necessary repairs like track rod ends, ball joints, even some types of tyre damage etc.. Barry recognised this confusion and saw an opportunity to educate and empower these customers.

He began by instructing sales staff to physically show customers the parts in question, comparing damaged parts with good ones, showing what a part should and shouldn't do etc. This hands-on approach was greatly appreciated by customers, as it demystified the repair process and removed the intimidation factor often associated with car maintenance. This happened more and more with both males and females of all ages, so Barry decided it was time to take a proactive approach and start educating his customers so they had this knowledge before even entering the reception area.

The classes were initially open to everyone, but after repeated attempts at organizing sessions for men with minimal interest, Barry decided to focus on Ladies nights as the response for them was phenomenal.

Sessions were normally fully booked within 30 minutes of being advertised. As word spread and demand soared, Barry increased the frequency of these classes from once every two months to monthly, and eventually, they became a weekly event due to their immense popularity. And thus, the Ladies' Night was born.
